I bought the 21d about 3 months ago for 14.5 with loader. I forget what the loader itself cost, but I assume that's about 12k or so without loader. All in all, once you ante up the cost of the entry level, you might as well get what you want. I got the 21 because it's also my new (big) lawn mower, and anything larger wouldn't fit in my shed. If you have need for a larger machine, I encourage you to fork out the extra grand or so. The 25 is bigger, heavier, and more powerfull for a relatively small increase in cost. As for me, I love my 21d.

I'm with Ted on this one. My diff lock only stays when one of the rear wheels is in a position to spin freely (ie. off the ground.) Then when it resumes straight and level travel the lever pops back out to avoid remaining locked when turning. Mine works the same way regardless of whether or not it's in 4wd. When I'm going over really rough ground or through nasty mud I just keep the lever pinned down with my heel until I'm through it.

I've got a TC21D (the 21hp boomer) which should have about the same capacity as the b2100, I use a 5ft cutter and it works great. The only time it bogs down is when I've got it set to ride too low and it scrapes ground. Otherwise it mows through 1-2

I don't own a 33D, but my TC21D has a differential lock, and I'm 99% sure all Boomers do. It works well, I use it all the time. Even comes in handy in 4-wheel drive, for when 1 rear wheel gets off the ground over rough terrain. If you like the 33 as much as I like my 21, then you'll be happy with it.

I have a TC21D...and love it! Runs like a champ, purrs like a kitten. I liked the <br>layout of the controls and guages and the more modern looking style better than the other colors. <br>I know, that seems like kind of a shallow determinant in buying a tractor, but realistically, <br>they all (21hp) seem to perform about the same (at least according to the published numbers.) The TCxxD series<br>also has fold-down ROPS standard, which DID come into play for my small storage shed.<br>The loader comes off in about 2 minutes (slightly longer than the JD because it requires 2 bolts <br>to be taken out.) It starts quickly, runs great, and has plenty of power. Oh, one more thing. A lot <br>of Kubota people complain about the dim headlights on their tractors. This baby has LIGHTS! Probably doesn't<br>matter to you, I know I don't plan on mowing my lawn at night, and I don't live in the snow region.<br>I'd say just go with whichever one you seem to like best...for whatever reason. They're all fine machines.<br>I just had to represent the Boomers to go with all the Kubota posts.

So, although I don't have<br>the tractor yet, I'll share what I have learned from a variety of sources.<br>A) The 410 Loader is about a 90-second operation to add and remove...the easiest thing in the world<br>B) If you want to mow nice lawn, you might want removeable weight..ie. rear weights over filled tires<br>C) R-4 Industrial tires do little, if any, damage to lawn and are MUCH better than turfs for loader/other stuff<br>D) I think adding/removing mid-mount is a 5-10 minute ordeal, the hardest part being to slide it under the tractor.<br>E) Hydro trans is, by all accounts, the best thing for loader operations, and is very nice in general. <br>F) You didn't mention what you were gonna do with your rear blade/box blade/rake...but I have heard <br> people say that the box blade is the most useful in the long term. It's my understanding that the 29 is a tuned up version of the 25. The 33 actually<br>has more diplacement (and I think is physically bigger/heavier as well.) If price<br>is close, I'd think the 33 would be a better deal.
